Pumpkin Prep and Halloween Night

Pumpkin Carving

Choosing just the right pumpkins is a big Halloween event at our house, but carving them may be even bigger. Should my pumpkin be scary or happy? How many teeth should it have? These are very important decisions, you know, and all part of the fun!

Halloween Night

Halloween was pretty rainy and cold, but that wasn't going to stop us. Armed with our umbrella, Ainsley and I braved the elements to celebrate the spookiest night of the year, while Daddy stayed at the house to hand out candy.

Not every house on our street had a light on, so when we spotted one, I said, "There's a porch light!" To which Ainsley responded, "Then that's where were headed!" Whenever I asked if she was ready to head home, Ainsley said, "No, let's keep going." I helped carry her candy bucket because it was getting pretty heavy! We were out for about an hour and fifteen minutes before she was finally ready to call it quits. Happy Halloween!

Big Girl School Halloween Parade

Ainsley was excited to dress up like Rapunzel for the Halloween parade at The Kiddie Company. We took some pictures before school, and she was really hamming it up for the camera!
Love this face!

I was able to get away from work for an hour to join the kids for the Halloween parade. It was really cute. Every kid in the school marched around the outside of the building in a long line, stopping at five or six stations to Trick-or-Treat.

Trick-or-Treat at Beachwood Place

We also took Ainsley trick-or-treating at Beachwood Place again this year. Grandma Molnar came with us to get treats from the stores throughout the mall. It's a nice event where the kids to get to show off their costumes indoors.

Pumpkins in the Snow?!

The weekend before Halloween, we bundled up to pick out pumpkins at our favorite pumpkin patch. The end of October was unseasonably cold and snowy here, so we made our choices quickly. But that didn't stop Ainsley from having a good time!
So many to pick from!
I'll take that one!

This one looks good, too!
