Just a Tiny Peanut

Ainsley had her two month well-visit at the doctor this morning.  We got a perfect bill of health.

For her length (22 3/4"), she's in the 60th percentile.  But for her weight (9 lbs), she's only in the 10th percentile!  What a tiny little peanut!  The doctor said that he doesn't care what the percentile is, as long as she's growing at a consistent pace, which she is.  So all is well, and we'll just get more wear out of those adorable little clothes!

Ainsley also got several of her scheduled vaccinations.  She cried during the actual shots, but settled down as soon as it was over.  What a good patient!  Our next well-visit is at four months, and hopefully it goes as well as today's appointment!

Two months old today

Ainsley is two months old today.  Last week, our little bean weighed in at exactly 9 lbs.  She's getting so big!  She's starting to develop a little personality, and we think she's going to be quite the spitfire.  She definitely knows what she wants, even if we can't figure it out!

Her eating patterns are still somewhat sporadic, but she's beginning to sleep for longer stretches at night.  She only woke once during the night in two of the last three nights.  Hopefully we're getting closer to sleeping through the night!

Ainsley also experienced her first cold this week. :(  But she was a real trooper and didn't fuss much considering her congestion.  She was really only congested in the early morning hours.  By late morning, she's breathing pretty well.  We think she's over the worst part of the cold now and is feeling better.

At the Zoo!

Back on Aug. 2, Grandma Wills and I took Ainsley on her first trip to the zoo.  OK, maybe it was just an excuse to get Mommy out of the house to enjoy the summer sunshine.  Either way, it was a beautiful day!

Blessings for Ainsley's Baptism

Yesterday, Ainsley was baptised at St. Anselm Church in Chesterland.  Nathan and I were married in the same church almost 5 years ago and by the same priest (Fr. Tom Sweany) who performed the baptism.  Ainsley wore the same baptismal gown that her Daddy and Aunt Meghan wore when they were christened.  So many very special connections.

Our immediate family joined us at the church and then back at our house for a reception.  We are very grateful for all the love our families have shown and continue to show for our little girl.

Happy One-Month Birthday, Ainsley!

Our little girl is growing so fast.  Ainsley was one month old on July 21.  She changes so much from week to week, getting stronger each day.  She's up to about 8 lbs already and can hold her head up for short periods.  She's quite the little chatterbox, making all kinds of noises when you hold her...wonder where she gets that from?  :)   She makes eye contact when you hold her, too.  Just amazing!
Happy one-month birthday!

Tummy time!
