Chalk Fest 2014

Each year, we like to check out the amazing talent on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art's annual Chalk Fest. Maybe one year we'll add our own chalk drawing, but for now, we have fun seeing what others draw and playing near the fountain and the pond.

I won two tickets to an Indians game, so Ainsley and I took advantage of the beautiful day to cheer for the Indians and enjoy some time downtown before the game.

Ainsley was having so much fun that she wanted to stay until the end game. So we did! Ainsley feasted on a hot dog, popcorn, cotton candy, and lemonade. We saw fireworks, a homerun, lots of excitement on the field, and a super fun hot dog race. It was a great day!

Weekend Getaway

When Daddy had an entire weekend off earlier this summer, we decided to take advantage of the time by spending a few days at the beautiful islands of Lake Erie.

On Saturday morning, we drove to Lakeside to enjoy one of Daddy's favorite family vacation spots.

In the evening, we went to an OSU alumni marching band concert. Alumni drum majors performed intricate routines with their maces, they did a "script Lakeside," where drum majors led folks around the auditorium, and played the fight songs, Hang on Sloopy, and more.  It was so much fun!  And now Ainsley knows how to do O-H!  I-O!

Put-in-Bay

Sunday morning, we took the Jet Express to Put-in-Bay. It was Ainsley's first trip to the island! She was a little nervous on the Jet Express at first, but once we got started, she had a blast!

As we approached land on the way home, we watched a bald eagle soar in front of the Jet Express and fly over to its nest in the trees. Everyone was amazed and tried to take pictures of this once-in-a-lifetime sight. It was incredible!
